Native Region(s): western Sonora and Baja California Sur in northwestern Mexico, naturalized in Florida, California, Hawaii and Texas

Landscape Use: deer-resistant tree

Height: 70-100 feet fully grown. Do not plant under power lines.

Light: full sun to partial shade

Water: Only somewhat drought tolerant. Water every 5 to 10 days in the summer to a depth of 36 inches. In the spring and fall, water every 7 to 10 days, and in the winter, every 14 to 21 days.

Soil: well-draining sand to loam type soil. Tolerates both slightly alkaline and slightly acidic soil.
